96 accord v6 revving high before shifting
OK, I have a 96 honda accord v6, when driving, that the rpm climbs high before shifting or going to the next gear. By high I mean 45-5500 or so before engaging to the next gear. Did a little research and some say it's the shift solenoid. While some say it can be the TCM. Funny thing is that it did this to the previous motor and tranny and now to the new motor and tranny too that I just put in not too long ago. Any help I'll appreciate it. Thanks.
cable freeplay adjusted properly?...Throttle body cleaned?...VSS sending correct signal to TCM?...Syncro in the tranny good?
Only cable coming from the throttle body is the throttle and cruise control cable. No other cable from the throttle goinng to the tranny. Have new auto tranny fluid in. No code.

the tranny is NOT going to throw a code unless it affect the EVAP/Emission systems....if all things checked okay then it may have to do with the actual gears/syncro in the tranny
If the shift cable weren't adjusted properly you would have symptoms like, the wrong light on the dash illuminated for the gear position selected, or a slipping transmission from the manual valve being in between gears.
Did this V6 even have a kickdown cable? I can't remember. I don't work on may of these v6's because most owners got rid of them since they are rediculous to work on.

most likely trans needs overhaul...milage on car?
have a trans shop check the shift flares does it do it on all shifts? does the ECU ever enter closed loop mode? (car warmed up)
