I am wondering what can cause a car to die when the clutch is pressed. It idles fine in neutral but once the clutch is pressed it dies.

I only tried starting it with the clutch in, started right up.
Problem is when I am in neutral the car idles fine. Once I put the clutch in in neutral the car dies. Also, when I shift car doesnt die but if I hold the clutch and coast to a stop car dies.
