Default ACT or Exedy??

hi, i am looking into upgrading my clutch and pressure plate. I have heard that exedy stage 1 make the clutch just as hard as ACT pressure plates. any ideas, or recommendations? I know that is a price difference. but does that contribute to the performance?

I mix and match. Exedy stage 1 clutch kit. ACT flywheel.

Exedy is #1 in customer service. If the kit blows up on you, 99% of the time, they'll refund you or fix whatever the hell blew up, including collateral damage to other parts. They are also the ones who make OEM replacement clutch kits, so, they're legit.

Happy Birthday.

i know this guy that makes his own clutches and alot of sd buys from him. he will be at eibach and his company is clutch power. really cool guy.

now about your clutch... first off all you got to consider how much power you are trying to hold. stage 2 is usually good till the 300 tq and thats probably a 6 puck sprung mated to a 1900 lbs pressure plate, i ran that setup for about 2 years using his clutch and its still holding up strong chirping up to 4th gear if i wanted to. i now am running a 6 puck sprung and a 1700 lbs pressure plate and pedal feel is a little stiffer than stock but it could hold up to 250-280 tq and im running a completely stock b16a so i think its just fine. A 4 puck rigid with a 2500 lbs pressure plate is overkill for most setups but alot buy and run them for what?? a workout? the rigids have no forgiveness and will hurt your transaxle over time

Will the exedy stage 1 pressure plate make the clutch pedal feel just as hard as the ACT pressure plate?? I currently have act streetlight flywheel, act pressure plate, and stock clutch. think theres something wrong with pressure plate and clutch planning on upgrading.

just do this bro. if you could find someone who rebuilds clutches, ask them how much lbs your pressure plate is applying they should have no prob testing it in front of you. the guy i told you about could check it for you and if you liked whatever that was then you could buy from anyone whether it be act, exedy, clutch masters, clutch power etc, just by letting them know how how much lbs you want.
