mini me injectors?
So i plan on doing a y8 mini me for my 91 sedan and was wondering which injectors i should go for. I have a b8 that i took injectors off but im assuming theres a better choice. I know i cant use the y8 injectors since im going obd1. I also wanted to know if theres any real benefit to using my sedans b2 block instead of the b8?
the b8 block is set up for a head that only has 2 valves per cylinder so you have to use the b2 bottom end. for injectors, you can't use the b8 ones because they are 190cc units if i recall. pretty much any other obd0,1, or 2 injector you can use though. not ones from a y7 though, those are also 190cc and too small. anything 240cc will work.
The D15B8 is a 16v motor so it has 4 valves per cylinder, so thoes injectors for the B8 will work fine for your mini-me set-up, (d16sihatch) I think your thinking of a HF D15B6 8v motor
Also Id Use The B8 Block, Its Newer And Similar To The B7, And Ive Had B7/Z6 Mini-Me, B8/Y8 Mini-Me And They Were Both Faster Than My B2/Z6 Mini-Me
both the d15b6 and d15b8 are 8 valve engines

Ok straight up, B8 and B6 are [in stock form] both 8 valve motors. I've heard of B8 enignes coming with 16valve pistons from the factory (mine did). Mechanically speaking, B2/6/7/8 are all the same minus 8 valve pistons where applicable. The B8 stock injectors are rated lower than regular injectors (can't verify Y7).
You can use whatever block you want as long as it has 16 valve pistons, DO NOT use the B8 injectors (I did because I didn't know there was a difference, motor didn't last).

That's not entirely true. Although I've never found a straight forward answer as to when or what year Honda decided to use the PM3 pistons (regular 16valve DX/LX pistons) in the 8 valve engine, some D15B8 engines did come with 16valve pistons from the factory (again, mine being one of them).
Oh My Bad I Forgot In 92-Early 93 The B8's Where 8v, And The Pistons Only Have And 8v Relief Pattern, Now Some 93's and all 94&95 B8's Are 16v Engines And The Block Is Indeed Identical To The B7. Just With The B8 Badge As Said, Just Look At Your Block With Out Head And See If The Piston Have Has 4v Relief Pattern On Each Piston If So Your Good, Use The B8 And The Injectors Will Be Fine, But If Its An 8v Your SOL On The Block/Inj.
And As For What "24TEN" Said That Is True, So Say Your Is An 8v B8 It Map Still Come With 16v Pistons
