help, mixing ppg and omni together?
Okay so im about to paint a integra 4 door and i have two different cans of clear coat one is ppg the other is omni AU both left overs from other jobs. i wanta know if i can mix them together so i can clear the integra.
the ppg is 4:1:1 clear reducer hardner
the omni 2:1 clear reducer
On the omni it says note: Omni AU is a new generation of paints and cannot be mixed with any component of the omnicoat factory package product line.

No.... If u want to use both of them do them one at a time so for example do the omni first.... Until it's finishes.... Then mix a new batch usesing the ppg until u finish it.... But DO NOT combine them
yeah i thought about that but i didnt wanta run out doing one of the side but i guess i have no choice. can someone tell me what would happen if i did mix them
FYI Omni is made by PPG. I wouldnt mix them but its safe to shoot either one first, let flash properly and then lay down the final coat. Chek the sig PM for more q's
well nothing will happen for a bit, but u have a inferior quality clear that does not have the same life of say a quality clear, if i were u and u are painting the outside of the car get some more ppg see if u can buy 1/2 gallon from a paint store. but if u are also painted the door jams use the omni... so for jams use cheap clear and for outside use good clear thats what i do here a pic of my car i just painted last week but i used dupont clear outside and a lesser quality one inside the car
