not to sure how much different the 91 is from a 90 which i have and the alternator just comes right out the bottom... i beleive theres a bolt on top that you take off which is on a bracket and the bottom one bolts to the trans/block and should come right out i just did alt belt and i had to loosen it but didnt take all the way out... hope this helps
it wont fit out of the bottom the alternator is to big to fit through the bottom or through the top the master cylinder, block, and wheel well is in the way do i need to take anything more apart to fit it through
how i did it was i lossened it, took bolts out, dropped it out and maneuvered it behind the engine and out the passenger side. i had to disconnect a heater hose and take off the intake arm and box and it came right out. hope this helps
If your saying you got it unbolted but you just cant get it out because theres not much room. You can slide it across the bay behind the engine, just slide it under the intake manifold and then out by the battery. Worked like a charm when I did mine

Either take it out from the bottom, by removing the lower alternator bracket, or axle. Or take it out from the top, by loosening the master cylinder and moving it a little bit out of the way. You won't have to bleed the brakes either, some people think you do, as long as you don't crack open the system, you will be fine.
Wow @ some of the answers here, you certainly don't have to remove the axle.
I did one last fall, unbolted the alternator, then the lower bracket and slid it out of the drivers wheel wheel, easy!!

More then one way to skin a cat, I can pop axles out in 5 minutes so its not a big deal.
