99 2000 Civic Keyless Entry question
I removed my drivers kick panel and did not find my Keyless entry module like I read to do. From what I read in 99 2000 civic SI model thats where it is located. My car is a 2000 SIR coupe basically the same as SI anyways I removed my door panel and found a box located under the tweeter on the drivers side. Is this the keyless entry module box I don't want to order a remote until I am certain this is it. I have instructions how to program my remote. I just want some help with this one because the other boxes I seen in the forum were a whitetish grey box and mines blue can someone help me with this one before I go nuts.
Yeah that is it. In the 2000 SiR, the remote control module is on the door. The only catch is that you might have to buy the remote from a Canadian or European Honda Dealership to match the Frequency of the remote. On US 99-00 Civic SI's, the remote control module is in fact in the drivers side kick panel and is a white box that is made by Panasonic, it would usually be sitting closest to the firewall next to the Power steering module. Hope this helps.
If it helps my SIR in the door jam on the white sticker says its made in the United states. I also looked underneith and all the wiring is there for the factory security unit all the plugs taped with blue tape to the harness. Do you think the US remote will work I have the US civic SI part number Ya or no? its funny all the BS you gotta do and read to make you car have all the options you want.
Or just another thought could I plug in the US keyless entry box to my car and use that box with a US remote the wiring should be all the same should'nt it? The reason I say this is in Canada everytime I want to order something like OEM fogs or factory security its discontinued. In the states for whatever reason everythings still availible just ordered OEM fogs from a honda dealer in florida.
