91 B18 CRX Help ( pics attached )
So I am trying to figure out what the loud pop was on the driver side while I was going 10 mph in a straight line. Then at about 20mph there was alot of clunking like noises.
In the first pic the boot that is circled is ripped and no grease at all is in it. There is grease thrown all over the bottom of the car.
The axle looks ok, what is the best way to test it?
All the bushings are smashed and cracked, can i buy a complete kit somewhere?
Also the grease seems to be around the axle and not the split boot??
Thanks for all the help!!!

1st pic is an inner tie rod
If your bushings are shot, look into either oem replacement, or Energy Suspension sells a full poly upgrade if interested.
If you axle boot is ripped, you can either replace the boot, or, if you have clicking when turning, but buy a whole new shaft, they are cheap

The boot on the inner tie rod is what is ripped.
I can not see or feel a tear on the axle boot.
The clunking is going in a straight line not turning.

...sometimes the rips happen in the creases... IT IS OBVIOUS YOU HAVE A TEAR IN THE BOOT BECAUSE OF THE GREESE ON THE LCA MOUNT!!!
Your upper ball joint sure doesn't have a lot of threads showing... are they even tight? There is not even a cotter pin in it... who ghetto rigged this car?

HAHAHA "who ghetto rigged this car"
I have been saying that for 2 days. Everything I have taken apart is missing a bolt, nut, or something.
I put the tire back on and set it down for the night. I will check the nut tomorrow. I did yank up on it and it may have moved a hair but not much if it did.
I just yanked on the axle to and it did have some up and down play. Maybe a 1/4"???
I am replacing and adding all the missing bolts as I go through it. I bought it Sat from a kid in Fla.. Got it cheap but having to do a lot of little tedious fixes.

Changed the axle today and no more clunking. Added pins to everything. I am going to change bushings and all next.
It looks like someone tried to repack the boot and instead of a metal strap they used a thin panduit strap. guess it did not hold very well.
