Default Drop Engineering Mounts = Installed!

I recently ordered a set of these Drop Engineering mounts for my Civic. To be honest, I was a little nervous since I never heard of the company before. After reading up on the company a little more, I chose to try them out.

http://www.dropengineering.com/96-00...ne-mounts.html

I had extra free time last night, so I decided to go for it and do the install. Needless to say, about 1 ½ hours later, some nice shiny new mounts were in! The install went extremely smooth!

Passenger Side mount:

Rear mount:

(I know you can’t see it too well, but this bad boy took the longest to do, so it deserves a pic!)

When driving, the car feels great! Shifting is a lot smoother, and precise. The car wants to lunge forward, most noticeably shifting hard into second and third.

Overall, I am extremely happy with the mounts. They look good in the bay, fit great, and work perfectly!

Hey guys, just as an update. It has been almost 6 months, much of which included driving the vehicle hard and everything is holding up perfectly.

Looks pretty nice. Have you noticed more vibrations through the steering wheel at idle?

Do you know what durometer poly they're using?

EDIT

Links shows 75.

Wow. I can't believe no one even thanked you for posting this 6 months ago?

Thank you for the good quality pictures (especially welds) and the experience. Very helpful if I was looking for mounts!

Yeah well I made it a point to reply just to show him appreciation for his contribution.

I agree - pics are very nice. I only wish people asking "what part is this?" while posting horribly out of focus pics would take a lesson from bloweded up.

I noticed a little difference, but nothing that wouldn't come with upgraded engine mounts anyways.

Thanks guys. I wish I had a better camera/lighting at the time!

thanks for making this post!

I am wondering if you removed the two front torque mounts after you installed the drop eng. ones?

Sorry for such a late response. I did not remove the torque mounts. They are actually filled with window weld (comparable to 60A polyurethane) at this time.

Already coming up on a year with these mounts and still no issues. Great mounts for the money IMO.

Maybe a little dirty from the previous winter and all the salt, but a quick cleaning should have them looking brand new again!

Yup. I'm bringing this back because yeah, I'm looking for a set of mounts. I'm not a fan of the green stuff but hey, if it works then what's the problem right? I've been trying to get good comparisons between Innovative, Hasport, Drop Engineering. So far, everyone has their pro's and con's.

What is your driving style while these are installed? Any track days?

Wait for it...

Although I don't condone the bumping of this thread Innovative, Avid and Hasport will all suffice. 75 inserts will be more than anyone needs for a daily street car unless its a higher HP boost setup. Take your pick and be done.

Their site lists them as "Out of stock", which is a pretty good indicator that they don't sell them anymore. For something similar, check out Yonaka's mounts. That's what I'm using, same design (actually exactly the same), and they're good mounts.

There are other companies, why waste your time on just one company? If hasport was out of stock I'm moving on to another, If hardrace bushings just miraculously sold out of bushings, and suja1 went on vacation (AGAIN) than its oem. Todays market for the b-series, d-series, has been quite crowded.

One reason is price. Yonaka has manual transmission only for a good price, for an Automatic you have to pay 3 times more with Hasport or Avid, Innovative I think is 4 times more.

I don't doubt Yonaka, was specifically talking about the drop zone mounts. If it were about price, which in all cases, than contacting the company or 3rd party would've been best to see when they will be restocking the item. Quick phone call could've answered that one.

edit: I have to say those welds look AWESOME.

If I recall, drop engineering was a decent price and all the ones mentioned including drop engineering are high quality mounts. Probably about equal across the board for quality, so it's more about price and availability.

Also Tony, your skimming fails you yet again. They did mention trying to contact drop engineering but not getting a response so there was some effort put in that direction. Next step does sound like a phone call though.
