please take notice that the dyno I go pulls 9whp less than a dynojet.

please enjoy!!!

It's good power for a 1.6L

Not sure about the low reading dyno tho.

My friends 11:1 CR BC stage 2 cams + 4x1 header made same power, but in a dynojet.

BTW, nice song.

thanks to all!!!!

engine heard alive sounds more amazing!!! trust me!!!

that power was with stock rev limit, we will take rev limit to 8500, hope that with that we will get 2 or 3 extra ponies

and yes p28 rulez!!!

I am really happy with my car!!!

last dyno with 12lbs flywheel pulled 147whp now after new piston rings head p&p and p28 with stock rev limit pulled 163whp!!!

10.8:1 oem pistons, head was a bit milled...

rev limit is still 8200rpm, with oem rev limit was that power, hope to get a few more HPs with moving rev limit to 8500rpm

thanks for your comments I actually have a 12lbs flywheel with oem flywheel I would have about 170whp, 12lbs flywheel lost power in 4th and 5th gear but 1st 2nd a 3rd is AMAZING

dude I dont need to lie

during my build up I´ve been trying different things

before head work and piston rings my car was 147whp that was when I put on the 12lbs flywheel, before I install flywheel it pulled 155whp and next week after flywheel installation it pulled 147whp always in 4th gear of course

so why would I lie? whp loss was about 8whp so why shouldn´t be true?

I don´t want to install oem flywheel again, I love 12lbs flywheel, I pulls amazing 1st and 2nd gear, 3rd is the same and 4th and 5th it lost. but I still love it!!!

maybe the day I have to change cluth again I will reduce weigh on oem flywheel to leave it in 15lbs

now I want to ask you guys,

my current exhaust line is 2.25 with 2 resonators and a N1 muffler in the end.

should I change for 2.5 with my setup? would I gain any power?

so have you actually dynoed this on a dynojet? Or you just speculate that it makes less power than the dynojet, because if that's true then it should make 190+ on a dynojet. The car makes ok power and sounds good, I just don't see this thing going to make more than 180whp on a dynojet

crx=si, I will explain you the best I can (I am from argentina, Im not english native speaker)

when I bought my car the first mod was a tri y hytech replica, 2.25 exhaust with 2 resonators and a n1 muffler apexi VAFC2 and pulled 142,2whp

then I put AEM v2 CAI, ITR intake cam and same VAFC2 and pulled 155whp
then 20 days later I took away the oem flywheel and put in a 12lbs flywheel, went to dyno and pulled 147whp

as soon as I installed the flywheel I notice that 1st and 2nd gear is amazing, 3rd is the same BUT 4th and 5th it lost power

after that I change piston rings, P&P head and bump CR to 10.8:1 throw away VAFC2 and installed a p28 with crome

and pulled 163whp with oem rev limit

so if my calculations are right, if I take away the 12lbs flywheel I will recover my lost ponnies and reach 170whp aprox BUT I prefer my amazing first and second gear thanks to the flywheel, check out this video,

remember my car is a 4d 98 civic with b16a2
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PhGdUdbMJG0

next week I will extend rev limit to 8500rpm, hope to get 165/166whp

lol you didn't answer my question, I asked if you had your car dynoed on a dynojet prior to your final tuning on the video. You've also stated that the car made 182whp and less 9 whp than the dynojet, so I'm asuming from your statement that you had your car dynoed on a dynojet. If you haven't got your car on a dynojet ever then don't asuming what it would have, could have, and should have made. I don't care what the car made previously on the vafc, different fly wheel, etc, these are not my questions.

dude, I didn`t understood the question before..

on a dynojet I dynoed the time I install vafc and pulled 144whp as the car ran really weak I went directly to the same dyno I always go and dinoed 135whp and tune again and get to 142whp.

then on the same dyno I went after dynojet I always go to dyno cause the owner is friend of mine.

I didn`t go again to dynojet but a friend of mine also had a 9whp difference in a b16a2

so if the dyno I always go pulled 163whp then on a dynojet I get I would be around 170whp but I don`t care I prefer to go always to the same dyno

you cant compair one dyno to another. I dont get how you lost power with a ligther flywheel, you if anything gained a couple freeing up rotational mass, yes lighter fly wheel will rev easyer, but there is downsides which i cant think of off the top of my head nothing huge. get a bpi Vstack and air filter maybe pick up 1 or 2hp on the topend or some underdrive pulleys by AEM

Dude, I thought the same, but trust me, I lost 7whp in 4th gear, BUT I win 1whp in 3rd gear
and 1st and 2nd gear is AMAZING, even though I love my 12lbs flywheel.

now I am thinking a few mods I want to do, I want to change my exhaust line that is 2.25 for 2.5 (I hear your opinions) and take away my ITR intake camshaft and install stage 1 or maybe 2s cams.. I will look now for 170/175whp, I´m sure that with bigger cams is achievable

I will open a thread to hear opinions about cams

You DO realize that power will read differently on the dyno from 3rd to 4th gear due to different amount of load right? Did you dyno the car in 3rd then 4th with the stock flywheel then dyno again in 3rd and 4th with the lighten flywheel, then compare the power from the 4th gear on stock flywheel with the power from 4th gear on the lighten flywheel on the same day?

dude, I tried my car im 3rd gear with oem flywheel and with 12lbs flywheel, the power was 1whp more with 12lbs flywheel, I also tried 4th gear with oem flywheel and 12lbs flywheel and there was 7whp lost of power with lighter flywheel

I tried everything I could in order to know the result of every mod I did on my car.

so I did both tests,

the reason I did that is beacause I noticed that car lost power in the street on 4th and 5th but runs impresively in 1st and 2nd.
I love my 12lbs flywheel cause most of the time I drive 1st 2nd and 3rd so I dont care if I pull 7whp less in 4th gear

BUT next time I change clutch (hope not too soon I dont have more money to spend) I will grab my oem flywheel and reduce it to 15lbs, that I am sure it will run the best that way.

was I clear in my answer dude? cause I am not a native english speaker, I tried to write the best I could for my explanation

Hey VTIArgentina!!!

Nice mods you have boy!!! Good for you!!!

I'm wondering if the 12lb flyweel has a gear selector or so.

How come you have less power in 4° gear?

I used to drive a D16Z6 with 10.5 to 1 compression ratio and an Stage1 crespocams (I think he is from Argentina too).

When I had to change the clutch, I lightened the flyweel, 4 pounds less. The final speed was the same but it took less time to reach it with the lightener flyweel. I don't understand how the less rotating mass could give you less power un 4° gear.

Did you test the car in a Dyno?
Is the Dyno managed by other person? If that, the tech who is on charge of the dyno can slightly modify the rotated mass and change the output of the test. Could be also on purpose.

If you don't want the 12lb flyweel anymore I know somebody on Argentina who could benefit, he is going to buy a EG6 VTI there and has very evil things to do.

Lots of love,

Samal.

p.s.: I know i'm a noob, gonna present myself in the correct thread.
