Default Options for Daily Driver

I have a 97 Accord Wagon with a F22B1 VTEC. if i dont decided to do the G engine hybrid or turbo, id still like to do something to the engine and get even some small gains. So far I have a TAS auto hyrid intake (stainless steel pipe, stock box with a K&N drop in filter), RSR cat back exhaust..thats it. I have a new head for it that i thought about having it port and polished. Ive also considered MSD ignition. also planning on a header and high flow cat. I was also looking at a cam that can be found on http://www.f22parts.com/item_F22cam.htm i attached a pic of what the cam is capable of.

Is there anything else i can do to the engine? i daily drive my car. I live in hot *** Phoenix AZ and i considered that it may be too hot in the summer to run turbo daily.

any comments and advice will be greatly appreciated.

Honestly, If you are going to spend that much on a cam check out www.bisimoto.com

Dyno proven performance and anyone here on the forum will vouch for them...
Level 2 cam plus cam gear is an excellent option!

$349.00
Offers a 10% improvement in power over factory, emissions friendly,stock-like idle, with emphasis on the 1500 to 5700 rpm range. Takes 7-10 business days to manufacture, after stock cam core is received. If cam core is not available, one cam be purchased from our store. Cam gear is recommended. 0.400" valve lift on the intake and 0.370"exh; 220 deg duration on intake and exhaust at 0.040"

^^ this is level 1. in comparison, seems like th Bisi cam puts out alil more power and in a greater range. at least that is how i understand it.

Bisi will also cost you less than that if you send in your cam core...

Additionally, I hear the level 1 has a perfect idle, so close to stock you cant tell

Ive never heard of the f22parts stuff but I know the Bisimoto parts are very good and well worth the cash.

How strict are the emissions out in az? If I were you I would step up and get the level 2 camshaft. its the same price as the level 1 and makes more power. I think it just needs valve springs to be run.

Level 2 doesnt actually need valve springs, its just recommended...

Only level 3 requires new valve springs..

the emissions arent very strict. in fact, since my car is bult after 1996, all they check is to make sure the gas cap holds pressure and they plug into the obd2 sensor and see if the car is throwing any codes.if i wanted to run straight pipe i could. but then that would call alot of attention from the crooked *** cops out here.

Since your emissions aren't too strict, I would recommend stepping up to the level 2 camshaft. For the same price as the level one cam, you can get a bigger bump in power and be even happier with the performance of your car Since valve springs over time can lose their ability to do there job efficiently, when upgrading to the level 2 camshaft we recommend upgrading the valve springs and picking up a cam gear as well.

If you do a quick search on youtube, you can find many video's of our customers car's with different level's of Bisimoto camshafts installed.

If you have any questions about the camshaft please feel free to give us a call at 888-922-6686. We would love to hear from you

1k for the quality I think is work it. Just get a GREAT antitheft system in your engine like a swarm of waps in your engine if they don't open it correctly... and a monkey with a hammer in your trunk :D

The Level 2 camshaft can be dropped into your motor and an immediate improvement in power can be felt. You can drive the car like this
To fully extract all the power from your car with this upgrade, a tune is recommended.

Without wanting to threadjack, I have a question for Bisi

How much difference in power gain would you expect on the level 2 camshaft dropped in vs having it tuned?

Depending on your set-up and condition of your motor, another 4-8% gain may be seen with a proper tune. The average after many test and tune sessions was a 15% total gain over the stock camshaft

Hope this helps
