I have heard the monza exhaust on a few import cars and they sound just awful. Stay with your stock system or have a custom catback made if you are tight on cash. Otherwise just spend some money for a nice system.

Monza/ Pacesetter exhaust sound like a pissed of weed whacker that's running rich. It's the most hideous and offensive sounding exhaust I've ever heard.

BUT...

You can't beat the price... If you're on a super tight Ramen noodle budget, get it. Otherwise, try to find a used exhaust.

I think I am the only guy...ever.... to like Pacesetter exhausts. I admit it sounds like poopoo by itself BUT I welded a http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=8524 on and it doesn't sound half bad. As for the price for all new componets, it can't be beat. IMHO, that is...

lol i guess that makes me the second person to be OK with it. i know its the bottom of the line but i'd say the performance is better than stock (but not the sound). although after my swap it sounded a lot less hideous. at least its mandrel bent. and i figured i would put the saved money elsewhere in my car and thats what i did. its on in priorities i guess. i have a video of my car if you're interested in hearing what it sounds like. and how could you pass up the rice tip? 4" of mAD pOwEr y0!

My car came with a Monza Catback but the muffler was so covered in horrible rust that I replaced it with a nice Stainless Steel one. It sounds good now. I mean how different can custom piping be from the monza piping. It's the muffler that quality is needed. The only bad thing is they are crush bent, not even mandrel. I'm waiting for it to rust apart before I replace it though.

The system I have is mandrel bent from tip to tip. Maybe you had an older Pacesetter/Monza system.

well anything would be better than what i have now
almost all the piping in mine was rusted through so i had to take the old piping from my DX and cut and paste it, welding with a cutting tourch, in the rain.
The old piping was the HF so it was different from the DX and the section of piping that comes off of the exaust manifold from the DX was trash... The only thing on the piping is the resenator from the DX and a monza exaust tip.

The reason Im asking about the Monza exahust is that I know they make good ones for Datsun Z cars... and I know the name has been around for some time now
