SPR Import Shootout ( Renegade Raceway ) PNW

First annual import drag race at Renegade Raceway. As we all know there needs to be more events like BOTI, IFO etc. here in the northwest. This being the first time I put together an event like this there will be alot of things for me learn to make it a better event in the future. This will be heads up racing/grudge style or test and tune. If we get a good turnout I would like to have specific classes and payouts/trophys for the winners next year. I Wish I could have had enough planning time and money to be able to organize it as such. My main focus was just to have another import event take place in our area as we really only had BOTI in Woodburn this year to my knowledge when I first started planning. Big
to IFO for getting there event on the schedule also. This will be 2 weeks after the IFO race which I hope is enough time to recoop from breakage, traveling expenses etc. Gates will open at 4pm and as with any sanctioned track all racers must pass standard NHRA tech inspection. There will be food vendors, Dj and working on a bikini contest to have a little mix. There will also be a cash bash at the end for whoever would like to buy in, winner takes all. Hoping for a good turnout. Thanks, and for any additional questions PM, call, or email me. Thanks againSosa@Spr

what is your idea of a cash bash? fastest car takes all? or best package wins? (package = reaction time + time over your dial)

I heard about this thread from Matt so I thought I'd come check it out. It's always good to have more events up here. Although I think there needs to be some sort of organized racing (ie classes) rather then just everyone showing up to run. A few of us are thinking about making the trip out there if scheduling permits. And as redboost said, nationals is that weekend as well.
on getting something goin on that track. I haven't been back there in about 8 years. would be cool to go run on that track.

+1 on some classes. i know nobody likes bracket racing, but its great for leveling the playing field when there is a wide variety of car setups. or index classes?
guess i dont understand the heads up deal when there is such a wide variety of cars.

Theres a race this wed and I'll talk with the track owner about it and see what we can come up with. I was more concerned about not being able to pay out the winners.
I say yes on the bracket racing too. And if you dont have enough time you can always push the date back to the end of the month on July. Well if you can.
Having a few classes or even index style is what im looking into but they will still be heads up classes, its not going to be dial your time bracket racing.
It should be a good turnout, been getting some good feedback on people/racers showing up. Team English racing confirmed they will be there with their shop cars so we will have some fast mitsu's to add to the mix of the honda/acuras.
