Default p08 s300 v. p28

i searched and searched and searched... all i found were FS threads and ppl talkin about the 02 sensor being 4 pin or something?

im running a 95 teggy with a jdm gsr block and usdm type r head and it is boosted with 15lbs on low and 20lbs on high with a p28 hondata basemap... i ordered a p28 s300 and i just opened my box to see that it was a p08.... what is the difference?... do i return it?... what do i do about this o2 sensor issue everyone talks about? will i even have the 4pin o2 sensor problem? will i still be able to run my b18c on this ecu and have a proper tune?

The P08 won't have the O2 heater output (Unless it's been added, it's really easy to do). You'll be able to tune your vehicle properly in open loop and if you leave it that way or use a wideband for closed loop you'll have no problems. The main concern will be that the P08 does not have PWM boost control with Hondata.

You can return it if you want, since it's not what you ordered, but if you don't need the stock O2 setup it'll work just fine. (Or you can get a 1 wire O2 and be just as happy)

well in that case i'm using a greddy profec II electronic boost controler... so does the PWM technique even matter?... or am i completly wrong on what PWM technique boost controling is?

edit: im also using an AEM wideband UEGO

take the top case off of it and there will be a sticker on where the plugs plug into the ecu.

The P08 is a small square box ECU. A P28 will not fit inside.

You're good then. You won't be using Hondata's boost control.

A s300 will not work in a P08. For that you will need a s300j.

well i got this from logicmotorsports... they seem like they know their stuff... i highly doubt they sent me an installed s300 in a p08 not knowing if it works. Guess we'll find out though

Don't worry, you're fine. The original post made it clear that it was the ECU and S300 together... and I'm sure you have the right part installed. I think Spunkster overlooked that it was installed already and the fact that in regular conversation, when talking about the S300, people rarely add the "J" to the end, even if it actually is an S300J. It's logically assumed.
