Default Performer X vs. Skunk 2 Intake Manifold

Well I've been trying to decide between the 2 for my build. I've been searching and searching, but can't find any actual real comparisons just hearsay. I currently have a Gen 1 Skunk2 Intake Manifold that I planned on using, but I've been trying to find the differences between the Gen 1 and the Gen 2 pro series.

Here is my setup:

B18b1 Block bored to 81.5mm
Rs Machines 81.5mm Pr3 Pistons
Stock Rods
ARP Rod bolts
ARP Head Studs

B18c5 Head
CC Cylinder Heads Hot Street Port Work
Supertech Valve springs
Supertech Retainers
Skunk 2 Pro 2 Cams
UGR Adjustable Cam Gears
Oldschool Skunk 2 Intake Manifold Port Matched
Precision 650cc Injectors
68mm Power Products Throttle Body
RMF Narrow Copy Header
Blox Velocity Stack and Filter

So out of the oldschool skunk 2, Pro series skunk 2, and performer x which do you think be the best manifold for my setup..?

Thanks.

It's been proven by testing done here that the performer X is the best manifold on the 1.8L. Search user "Mikeyspec". DonF also did some testing between the intakes and the performer x was tops on the 1.8L builds. 2L and up seem to like the Skunk IM's and the Victor X better.

I actually did see the test Mikeyspec did, but the thread is so old you can't even see the dyno charts to compare the power under the curve vs. peak.

I may just end up running the skunk2, and picking up the performer x later and compare them on the dyno myself.

It's too bad the graphs arent visible anymore but if you read the results he posted, it showed dramatic improvements. BearsEK I think also did some testing with this manifold.

I searched BearsEK and didn't see anything. Like I said I may end up doing my own test.

The px is the best manifold out for a 1.6 to 1.8 liter. period.

I dont have the pics but i do have notes.. the px beat the s2 manifold by almost 11whp and like 6tq in the midrange.. the px will fall off around 8400-8800rpms tho..

i liked it on my itr and it even performed well on my b20vtec, however.. a vx is better on 2.+

To answer the guy aboves question, I put it on my b20v with GSR head and had to relocated the fuel filter, by making a bracket that mounted it lower. The IAC is also a close fit against the brake lines on the firewall.

I think it might be a little more for a Civic, I'll check.

Uh.. i think alot..
I ran the px manifold on my b20vtec which is the same CR as yours, just on 93oct.. and it wasn't supplying enough air, from just changing manifolds w/o a tune i gained almost 20 whp....smaller manifolds just dont perform well on built race motors..at least i haven't seen any.

So the Performer X would be best on my 82mm ITR at 12.5:1?

I've seen testing on this site by a reputable member that showed a type R style intake being much better suited for a 2L and up than the performer X, but the Victor X is probably a better choice for this build especially if it has some decent cams and header/exhaust on it.

K
I have a stock unported itr mani butt it was matched to a 70mm TB.
I will have the big tube hi-tech tri-y ebay replica header, high flow cat and 2.5 inch pipe to a 18 inch resonator to a hks stree drager catback. CAms will be the s2pro2s. I guess i can always swap the stock itr mani out for something better and se what gains it will get me after a tune.

I found one in san jose south. "JG EDELBROCK VICTOR-X intake manifold for b16 heads (fully hand polished finish) ported for 70mm throttle body".
