i just bought the miller 211. nice mig for what it is, & i bought the al spool gun with it. i will probably never use the spool gun cause i always tig al, but you never know. i got a really good deal on mine, but you can probably get the 211 with spool gun for like $1300. hope that helps you some.

you will want a mig welder with a spool gun. You can pull it off with a short standard gun, but will most likely have problems with the wire jamming.

Eastwood has a 175 amp MIG out now that comes with Spool Gun for $500.
kinda looks like a rebadged/painted Lincoln. possibly lincoln designed, chinese built, and rebadged for eastwood?

i think i'm gonna pull the trigger on one soon, just to get rid of a little dinky Lincoln SP125 i've had for 10 years. spool gun can come in handy for me on occasion to tack things up under car instead of using my TIG

I use a lincoln mig i got from lowes with pure argon. i purchased a aluminum kit on ebay. I dont have a spool gun and it works good. It will not weld intercooler piping well but i welded mounting brackets on my intercooler and on my turbo housing looks good i think. It was also not very hard to do either.

it really works well... i would LOVE a 175amp version of it.

ive gone through 6 or 7 bottles and at least 13-15 spools of wire with it. still welds as good as it did on day one.
