Default Wheel sizes.. please help

Hi people I need some advice on tire sizes. I bought a tire and rim package for my '01 accord 4cyl sedan. They are Motegi MR7's with 225/50/17 for tires and the rears rub slightly when hitting bumps. They're rubbing the very edge of the wheel well that curls down so the scuff marks on the tires are almost on the sidewall. I know having 17's on an accord isn't uncommon so is it the tires that are too big? too wide or tall? If so, does anyone know what tire sizes I can put on this rim that wont rub the fender? I'd rather not roll the fenders Thanks ! -Jake

The 50 in tire size means the tire's side height is 50% of 225. On 17 inch rims for an 2001 Accord you can use 215/45/17 tires.
Hope this helps.

You also need to take into account the offset of the rims.
