Belt tensioner broken?

Default Belt tensioner broken?

i am trying to tighten the timing belt on a mini me. i get the timing belt tight in the front (radiator side) and go to give the crank a turn forward a few cam teeth and it seeems to skip and the belt does not get tight, any help?

What head/block/belt combo are you using? Also, can you see if the tensioner spring is in place?

Which way are you trying to turn the engine? Clockwise or Counter Clockwise?
