Default eg b16turbo, somethings horribly wrong

my buddy as a b16 eg turbo precision sc61 ramhorm manifold. big fmic piping tial parts all that jazz.4 bar map sensor. He had it running strong ripped 1st and 2nd like it had no biz. but it smoked so he swapped the inner workings of a turbonetice sc61 that had a lil dif impellor size.

Heres where it goes wrong: Wouldnt boost over psi when its set for tune to 10psi so we said ****it put the old internals back in bolted evertying up. We took our first run u know on a "closed road" spiking 15psi alright but shes lacking power big time. Take a few more passes and finally it gets to 10psi. but shes still lacking power and i mean not spinning first when it spools and not even chirping 2nd. Car died multiple times. bucked a few times. at some point gave throttle problems. Its got nology hot wires and one had a tear in the insulation so i swapped to a ngk regular and the car bucked crazy and we coudlnt even make a pass on our "closed road"

Car now hits 6-7psi nothing more. car lacks all types of power. drivability is still really poor. Lookin for ideas here guys

when you change turbos with different impeller wheels, it changes the amount of air forced into the engine. Time for a retune.

Also check for exhaust and I/C pressure leaks in the system. this includes tears in couplers, exhaust manifold leaks, etc.

we went back to the original parts man. and these couplers were pretty tight. coudlnt hear any leaks. but i also dont have a boost leak tester so it kinda hard to tell perfectly

Speaking of "tune", was it ever tuned??? Is it a decent ems or a crappy fmu/afc hack?

My guess is it was a basemap at best, you guys cracked the stock pistons' ringlands, and in general FUBAR'd everything.
