Anybody else dislike the G3 Integra Shifter?
The thing looks like a damn joystick, and that's how it's designed to be grabbed (read: the wrong way to shift) Has anyone tried slapping something like a civic shift **** on there? I don't want a stunna pep-boy's shift **** or some $300 Mugen brushed titanium piece of crap, but I really want to replace that thing.
yea that thing does suck...it was the first thing i changed....I went with the short shifter and a leather and crome looking shift ****....it works better than that ***** looking shift ****..LOL...
first thing i got rid of was the stock shifter after i bought the car ... i got an itr shift **** and let me tell you it the shift feel was like night and day. i hated that gsr pos shift ****.

well ****...........I always liked it and found it pretty damn ergonomic. To each his own.
I have the Greddy "Grex" shift ****. I think you can buy it for around 40-50 bucks new. I got mine used for 20 from a kid I know. I love it. It really does look like a short shifter since the **** screws down all the way on the shift fork. The feel is great. the only dislike I have is it gets pretty hot if you leave your car in the sun all day at work or school during the summer. I would definately reccommend it though...

Ergonomic if you hold it like a joystick. I used to shift like that, then I started using the proper technique: cupping your hand around the top and shifting with fingertips/palm. No way would I ever go back to the old technique...
I think the stock **** looks like a damn banana.
The first thing I did to my car when I got it was yank the shift **** and put on the Razo **** that I had in my Camry. The short shifter I have is the same height as stock, but the **** fits down over the shifter farther than the stock ****, so the whole thing is about 2" shorter in height than with the stock ****.

that's funny, i've tried the 98 leather ITR ****, the JDM ITR heavy round metal ****, and one of those fake ITR ***** that you can find on e-bay nowadays. i could've sworn all those ***** improved the feel of the shifting, but when i went back to the stock GSR "pos" shift **** i suddenly realized how good it was.
even for shifting the "right way" the stock GSR **** is better (IMO) because when you cup the top of the **** in your hand, the tip of the **** will naturally want to click down to 2nd or 4th gear. and for going upwards to 3rd or 5th, a simple nudge with a small movement of the wrist works pretty well with the stock **** also. i find shifting the "right way" is a bit more difficult with any of the ITR *****. well, not "difficult", but more like "not easier"
