I just bought the car and it said 98909 miles on I was amazed with the low mileage. Then I started driving it and I relized that the mileage meter and travel meter didn't change >>>>>>whats wrong!!!!

 

Is it the speedometer and the odometer that don't work or does the speedo work?

 

the one that shows how many miles the car has been driven and the speedometer is whack {speed limit is 45 I have to go 50 in order to maintain speed with other cars}
and does not feel like im going the actual speed

 

newb here but just went through that myself, sort of.

In my case both the speedometer and the odometer were no longer functioning and it appears that the speedo circuit board was the culprit. The speedo exhibited the ubiquitous
"always at 20" syndrome.

Sounded like you're saying that yours still works as in showing 50, though, so that would be different.

 

You can go to the junkyard and replace the entire gauge cluster for anywhere from $15-$100.00 or you can go to Honda dealer and pay 5-10x the junkyard price. Either way, the old one's gotta come out.

Oh yeah, if you know anyone who can repair circuit boards, possibly a computer savvy person, maybe you could take the old unit to them.
