Icon6 Transmission oil change and disposal.

Hi guys,
I want to flush out my old transmission oil. First I want to drain and fill then drive for 2000 miles then drain a fill again. I would like to know the following:
1) How many quart of Honda transmission fluid should I get each drain and fill?
2) Where can I dispose of the old oil once drained? My local auto part store only take motor oil and not any other kind of oil.

My car is an automatic 1990 Accord LX.

Thanks,

first autozone should take all oils and trans fluid. i dont think they will check. but mix it with oil and they will take it. second-is it an auto or manual trans? the capacities may be different

Since it's a 90 Accord, I think it's just a regular 4 cyl. F22Ax On average, on all of the Honda/Acura I have, little more than 2.5 quarts. You should be safe just buying 3.

If I want just to suck up the fluid through the reservoir and then drive for 2 days then change it again. Would I need 6 quarts instead?

Thanks,

i would just drain it, fill it, and repeat 2000 miles later. 6-qts. really though, i would have the trans flushed to get all the fluid out of the torque converter and replaced. this is worth the 60 dollars lube shops charge. but make sure they use a quality lubricant lie a castrol product. or whatever brand you prefer. you may pay extra for this but its worth it

transmission flushes destroy the permanent filter inside of Honda transmissions.

NEVER flush a Honda transmission, especially at those crap lube shops where they put crap generic tranny fluid in with "additives" to make it just like the Honda fluid.

Drain tranny fluid
Refill with correct amount using ONLY Honda ATF
drive ~100 miles
repeat 2 more times.
