I have searched and read about this already, just doing some triple checking. I can get a pretty good deal on some 225/40/18 with an offset of +42. This falls in the gray area of fitment. I have tein SS coilovers and strut bars/sway bars. Will these fit or is it not worth the time.

You'll rub for sure. Get tires closer to stock size. The ones you have selected are a full inch taller (diameter) and 0.8" wider.
