Default Some gear ratio stuff

Some of you guys might find this interesting, provided you aren't owned by my firewall. Misa send it to me a while back, it lists the gear ratios for the 4th gen Prelude and 5th gen Accord, and various speeds at different RPM increments and stuff. You can probably ignore the WRX stuff and the combo stuff.

You need Office 2000 to view it.

http://accordinglydone.myip.org/data/gearratios.xls

Oh, and a side note on the site... it's done, it's awaiting some data entry and articles, and I'm just waiting for my friend to learn how to run virtual domain hosting on his Linux box, and we'll be up and running.

not cool... can anyone confirm or deny the alledged 'countershaft and 5th gear swap' from a Civic Si into a lude tranny to avoid this?

Ive never heard this before. Since all Bseries tranny components are interchangeable then, if this did work (which i dont think it does) then why an Si 5th? Why not an LS? I strongly doubt this works.

F and H trannies can work on H and F motors, but the internals arent interchangeable. Ex: You cant put F series gears on an H22a final drive.

Where did you get that idea about a bseries gear working if the closely related F series trannies internals dont work?

The pimply pudgy bastard who works the service counter at the local dealership is building a 91 Accord H22. He is supposedly doing this 'Civic Si countershaft and 5th gear' swap into a 99 lude tranny. At the time I yawned and roled my eyes. But now knowing that your cranking at 4k going 80 I see why someone would try this and would like to know if that guy is full of **** or not.

has anyone looked into the ratios of other H / F equiped cars? like the Odyessy for example and whatnot sold in other world markets????

perhaps manual versions of them have 5th gears we could swipe/interchange.

I would like to know as well. Any B16 tranny "screams" in 5th gear at 80mph.

H22a 5th gear is .870 with a 4.26 FD
B16a3 (Si) 5th gear is .848 with a 4.40 FD
B18b1 5th gear is 0.714 with a 4.26 FD

Why on earth would you use an Si 5th gear when you could use the LS?
