Sway bars
I'm lookin to buy a sway bar for my ej1 and i was wondering if the gsr end links would work or if I have to get different ones. Also if I need some sort of sub frame support for such a small bar?
any swaybar less then 18mm you will be fine without any added subframe support. when you go bigger you will need to add a asr or the beak subframe re-enforment (not a beaks lower tie bar)
An EJ1 is a 92-95, right?
Okay, so there are generally 4 main styles of lower control arm. Which endlinks you use are determined by which style of lower control arm you have.
First are 92-95 Civic LCAs with no endlink mount at all. If you have these, trash 'em.
Then, there are the 92-95 Civic/Integra style with the endlink mount on a standoff on top of the LCA. Integra endlinks will work on these with proper geometry, and I think EG Civic endlinks should work as well.
The ITR LCAs are completely different from the EG style, but use the same endlink and location.
The 96-00 Civic style have the endlink mount through the middle of the LCA. You need a completely different endlink (99-00 Si style) for these.
If you go with aftermarket LCAs, beware. Most of the cheaper ones have the endlink mount in the EK location, which completely screws up the geometry if you use EG endlinks.
I just went through this doing a mix-n-match swaybar setup on my EK (well, EJ8), and that's what I found.

If it protrudes from the top, you need EG/Teg links. If it's in the middle, you need Si endlinks.

well, the ASR will come with everything you need to bolt it to the subframe.
However, I'm not sure which OEM D brackets fit on the ASR brace. You'll have to find D brackets that fit the ASR, and bushings that fit the bar. I used universal Energy Suspension D brackets with the 22mm bushings, since I have a 22mm ITR swaybar.
I got the universal ES brackets from Summit Racing for like $12. If you can find ones that are the right size for your swaybar, that's what I'd recommend.
