So me and a buddy went out racing tonight and he beat me by about 3 cars, now i wanna rub it back in his face and beat him but i wanna stay all motor. I have the i/h/e/IM . he has the dsm link, 3inch all the way back, air intake ,stock turbo at 15 pounds. any suggestions for a good bang for my buck ?

 

race on a track before you kill some innocent person. how would you feel if say someone in your family got killed by a street racer getting his jollies off.

to beat him you have to lighten up as much as you can and the cheapest way engine wise would probably be ls/v or b20/v. itb's??? it depends on how much $$ you have to drop, theres also the h2b, the k and of course the boosted build. also i have to say please dont street race but circumstances dictate.

Its its a stock DSM with a few bolt ons then a B20v will do the trick nicely, maybe even a ls/v with some CTR cams.

 

i kinda wanna do a b16 head with a b20 block, which b20 block do i need and would i need an ls/vtec conversion kit ? and yeah i understand i really should smarten up and only race at the track. thanks guys for your time

 

now that i think about it , doing that would be alot of work lol and i kinda dont wanna do all that,so would a gsr block just bolt right up and would i have higher numbers with it ?

 

you cant 'lighten' up a del sol unless you remove the trunk and mold the bumper to look like a needle

 

The problem is not just that its a dsm and is already boosted, but he is also awd im assuming unless its a gst. Ive had 3 dsm's and they move out very well with basic bolt on and home depot mods.

 

Just wait for his car to break down (so sometime next week) and then you can beat him in your del sol or on a bicycle for that matter.

I would do a B20z block with a GSR head since the GSR head will give it a little more compression. My old B20vtec with CTR cams and bolt ons in a 95 EX coupe use to walk EVO 9MR's all the time.

I've seen all motor cars beat turbo. Usually a Vette vs a civic.

the dsm broke off the line and his z6 gave in half way through 2nd. hence, he won.
