ok guys i wonna run a 225 tire on my eg hatch how wide does the wheel have to be and has any one tried this yet

225 is made for a 7.5/8 wide wheel. depends on tire brand.

ok thats fine has anyone run this size tire for road race or autox runnin a supercharged k20 with some bolt ons. Lookin to make about 350-400hp

It's too wide for your car. And width doesn't do anything significant for performance anyway. If you want better grip, get stickier tires, not wider tires. Here are the stickiest tires you can get in the right sizes for your car:

14" Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec 185/60-14 on 14x5.5 or 14x6
15" Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec 195/50-15 on 15x6 or 15x6.5
15" Bridgestone Potenza RE-11 195/50-15 on 15x6 or 15x6.5
16" Falken Azenis RT-615K 205/40-16 on 16x7
