Ignition delay on Type R swap
When I go to start the car I notice is takes it a second to recognize what's happening. It cranks over fine just seems like the signals is delayed. It's always only been like a half second but the other day it took about 15 seconds before it recognized I was trying to start it.
All lights come on with key on but it didn't want to recognize that I turned the key.
Also would this have anything to do with me not having VTEC? It's throwing a speed sensor code but the only thing I haven't tried is the cluster, we've tried a few speed sensors/ECU/and checked all wiring but still no foul.
Car is a 93 del Sol SI with a '96 spec R b18c.

Is that a junkyard part or would I need to get the whole assembly around the column with new keys?
Also would that cause anything to do with the speed sensor?

The VTEC and speed sensor are separate. What CEL codes? The VSS connector is often corroded or bad. You can try to find a replacement connector at a junk yard.
Ignition switch: You would only need to replace the electrical switch, if it is bad.
