Best drag radial tire size for around 550-600whp
looking for some ideas on drag radials tire sizes. where i live its alot of street events that go on, and i weekend drive my car wanted to know what will be the best size to run. i prefer g-forces since i can get them wholesale at my job.
235/60/15 is your best bet
it doesnt really depend on nothing, trying to lay down that much power through a radial is going to require a 235/60/15 and they will still spin, but thats the biggest you can really fit "comfortably" without going all out.

i just drove some 225 50 15 MT ET streets on 450hp and they hook second almost all the way to redline and dead hook third gear!
I have had both 225/50/15 mt & now I have the 235/60/15m&h's and I put down just over 500whp and the mt's didn't hook nothin like the m&h's do. The m&h's hook 3rd gear and the mt's would hook 4th someimes... Hope this helps.
i had them at 28psi and i have no clue what my car weighs but its a full leather interior ek hatch with roll bar. i dont know why everyone is saying that they dont hook in third. i would venture to say that the front end of their car is light or their suspension is not set up to par. i have the cheapest coilovers on the market ,yonoka, and it drives almost perfect and hooks well on the 225 50 15 with the MT ET streets.i know im only (lol) putting down 450 but another car that had the same wheels and tires on it made 445TQ and it hooked hard on the MT ET streets in second and didnt slip at all in third.
255/60? damn never seen those
For op your best bet is to get the 235/60/15's, your going to have to raise the car up and tryin to turn with the wheel turned all the way will result in rubbing. you have to make sacrifices to get traction.
some people are even running some 275's now on their street cars. this guy on here v spec with the orange hatch has them on his car. search for 275's in the drag racing forum and you will find alot of good information

its hard to find 1 for a 16" wheel, but i ran the 255/50/16 mt's on my hatch, wouldn't hook at all with 800hp, but at 500hp they would hook in 3rd
Jesus!! I have Hoosier quick time pro 275/60/15s on my CAMARO and they hook! And it makes about 485whp and 515wtq. My civic has 225/50/15 BFG drag radials and they suck ***. And it makes about 480 on pump gas. Imma go home now and see if I can fit my 28 inch camaro tires on the civic now!! Thanks for the input.
What is the second best drag radial if the 235/60/15 M&H is #1?
I am not running a 235/60, period. Whats best in the 225/50 size?
MT ET Streets 3751R
Hoosier DR 17310
BFG g-Force T/A 49256
Are a couple that I'm considering.

I have the 225-50-15 MT's and I love them! Drives like a normal tire and can dead hook 2nd gear. It has a lot to do with your gearing, suspension, and bushings also. The more power you make the better the bigger tire will be for you.
How much power are you at to hook 2nd gear? How much air pressure? bbg?
