'99 Civic - Bushings
you need to be more specific. which bushing are being replaced? there are quite a few of them: lca, uca, trailing arm, sway bar.
also is the mechanic replacing the actual bushing or charging for all new parts? bushings cost about $20 each but need to be pressed in/out which takes longer than just replacing the entire part so the mechanic wants to take the easy way which cost more in parts for you

I didn't know there was more than one. I'm not technically inclined so I'll try and describe it.
They (both rear sides) are located going into the tire area.
I just did a google search for the various types of bushings associated with the '99 Civic and from this site & picture [....]
it looks to be the " AST Rear, Upper, InnerControl Arm Bushing" as quoted by the website.
Would that make sense? It looks like the type. He mentioned he's never seen them go before.
