Help with cable tranny rebuild!!
Ok so i took the tranny apart, it all seems good, but found some metal/aluminum shaving specs here and there and noticed that the shift forks were just barely grinded but not deep. Then the other thing a friend of mine noticed is that the synchro sleeves were ruined. I believe thats what there called, there the rings that go on the synchros. So whats the purpose of those? Im about to rebuild it cause my friends bro took the car out for a spin and slammed on the clutch so when we took it apart we noticed the clutch disc was cracked, so we slapped a new disc on it, put it back together and called it a day. When i took it for a spin all the gears when in fine with no grinding, but it started bouncing around like it would grab and not grab but its not like it slipped out of gear. It just shook back and fourth. Does this have to do with the the synchro sleeves/rings? are the shift forks reusable even thow there slightly grinded? Everything else is good, it never grinded still doesnt. It always felt good. Some1 please help, thanks.

Although it is an S80, most of it applies to L3's as well. Keep in mind that rebuild kits may cost you more than a solid working tranny from a craigslist/junk yard/forum.
