'88 Civic HB Rally Car?
I was just wondering if anyone knows of any links to a website where I can compare setups for an '88 Civic HB rally car. It's an extra car I have sitting around with no motor and I also have access to a B18b with a JRSC already equipped, so the thought occured to me....open class rally. Even if it couldn't hold up to the sponsored automobiles timewise I figured it would still be fun.
I've been searching on the internet for a while now and you be suprised how limited the info is!
Thanks in advance.

I'm building an 88 HB too. though I'm hoping to fit into production class.
the SCCA rules are available online.
the best info you are going to find, is firsthand. Get yourself a suit and helmet, and go find someone that needs s co-driver. Then walk around the pits and ask questions. Co-driving is a great learning experience.

Ya tell me about it
A buddy of mine with an RX7 Andrew Havas, was under fire from them last year about the age of is car. You might have seen it in SCC, it was an orange RX7 with a white T on the hood.
I already got the rulebook. One problem I have tho is, there are no rally events held anywhere near here. On top of that, no fwd rally civics that I know of sooo...i'm kinda screwed.
The main question i'm asking is if the JRSC/B18 with an LS transmission is a wise choice for that setup....too much torque? Gearing too spaced out? Would the combo be too front heavy for rallying? ect.
Thanks for the input

awd is a lot to start with. A nicely made honda is much better of a starting point. At most Scca Events you will see two integras and a civic. They are all running b18c1 or c5s one of them has a jrsc
Get a LSD equiped tranny that is short geared. Get DMS suspension, and get it seam welded and the best rollcage money can buy (8 point landing on all 4 of the shock towers and into the frame in 4 other points). Watch a race and talk to the integra or civic guys. 2 of the teams are Honda engineers who get all their honda stuff for free (lucky them)
Have a blast

There is a guy in the Northwest region with a nicely prepped 88-91 with a JRSC, running in Open, I think Pro Rally.
But are you new to the sport? If so you're not going to want to put a $4000+ engine/supercharger combination, nor will you want to be in the open class or in pro rally.
Try to keep the car in production and you'll be much more competitive.
