Got backed into today. Need new headlights. CTR advice?
So i come out to my car today (98 civic coupe) and see that my drivers side headlights is cracked. Its just my daily but ive always liked the CTR headlights, but they are also pretty spendy for a daily. Does anyone know of any good replicas or should i just go buy a stock one for 20 bucks off ebay?
Oh. Well then I see your point. I'm in the same boat: to build something that looks god and performs great but still can be the daily driver. I say when it's broke, upgrade it. Slow and steady but it will look good in the end.
I say go real or go home. But it's a matter of ready availability, and in some areas you have to cut corners. Like I have a 95 sedan. I want to go ferio with it but i probably won't be able to find the genuine part, so I might be stuck
wit a replica.
wit a replica.
i hear ya. with me i just like the look of the darker ctr housing. ive been lookin at them for a while now, and this little incident may just give me reason enough to do it haha

since you are trying to go cheap, my suggestion to you would be get some stock USDM lights, seperate them, spray the housing the "charcoal black" color, and seal them up.. IF DONE APPROPRIETELY, this will fool many people into believing you have CTR lights, because it will have stanley stamped on them.. also, IF DONE APPROPRIETELY, you will never have issues with it leaking.. here is some crappy pics of mine.. sorry about crappy quality large pics

Just buy another OEM one, open them up, and paint them yourself with a gunmetal spraypaint. That's what I did years ago to mine and I think they look pretty good. Definitely cheaper than buying real ctr's, and the light will probably be better quality than some cheap knockoff.
