I just bought a red 91 CRX Si, (my 6th, btw) which according to the color code, on the drivers door post is R-81. WTF, I was expecting an R-63.

I can not find any evidence, anywhere, that any 1991 Civic/CRX came stock from the Suzuka factory in Milano Red.
I have the 91 Helms and the 1991 factory CRX parts manuals. Neither of them list R-81 as an available 1991 color, only Rio Red, R-63 is listed.

Does anyone here, happen to own, or at least have seen any factory stock, R-81 coded red, 1991 Civics/CRX's? Or does anyone know anything about when Honda actually started using R-81 on Civics?

 

in the UK, the last of the red crx's came in milano red.
