Default Honda Phone

My girlfriend has a 96 LX and it has a car phone in it. Anyone know how to get that thing working? It works just fine it's just whenever we play with it, it says it has no service.

Is it the rare Honda accessory phone? Those were sick!! Is the phone in the console and keypad under the radio? I remember the ringer would come through on the car speakers. Im pretty sure it works only on an analog signal. Put that badboy in a museum!

Forget the phone, just buy a deck with Bluetooth capability My brother did that to his '96 740i.

since it is not likely that the phone is GSM or CDMA, it will most likely not work since AMPS was turned off in Feb 2009

Its exactly this. There's a phone for it in the center arm rest thing.

Not a pic of hers, but it's the exact same thing.

An excellant conversation peice. You can probably get some $$ for it on EBAY! I showed it to some tuner guys here in the shop. They got all crazy about it.

Eh, there was a surplus on eBay not too long ago if I recall. MagAutoParts I think sold like 10 or something brand new in box.

Nifty item. I would have bought one if they could've worked

I don't think you know what JDM means......

Japanese Domestic Market, it was sold only in Japan. It's not a term for "cool ****"

That phone is USDM, as it was sold here.

I wish I could get my hands on one of these. My '94 accord came with one but the original owner removed it. My radio install is going to be hidden and I would like to have it to plug the big hole.

i had a 2nd generation acura legend with the acura car phone built into the center console. we'd always ride around acting like we were talking on it, with the wire and **** hanging. pull up next to random people and hold it out the window saying "hey it's for you!!!" lol

The Civic Type R in Japan as well as some other earlier Civics had a radio block off plate. Plain, OEM Honda part. I bet it would fit in the Accord as well.

I have a couple of those plates and thought about using them. My plan is to have it looking stock. Thanks for the reply.
