2001 intermittent starting problem
so last week my moms 2001 accord would not start. until I beat on the fuel tank from above. than it started so I thought it was the fuel pump so I replaced that. it drove fine all week but yesterday morning it would not start. until it sat over night and it started this morning.
both times it had sat over night in the driveway and it rained both nights (also rained last night but it started)
I pulled one of the spark pugs when it would not start put it on the block and it had spark
all I know about the engine is its a 4 cylinder and its a manual transmission
any one have any ideas. Thank you for your time.

I can also hear the fuel pump turn on when it would not start
I will check it for cracks to be sure though
I dont think its the main relay because the engine was cold and it was about 60 degrees when it would not start plus it started on -30 degree days a couple mouths ago.

Mine used to fail after just a little heat, Like after running the heater I stop to get gas then the car wont start because the relay got hot. Open the doors for 10 min let it set and it would start.
Relay replaced, Problem fixed.
so I replaced the main relay yesterday and this morning it would not start. it rained last night so far it as allways had this problem after it has rained. it just cranks but wont start
