Default re-routing the piping on the ef

okay just curious i serched but could not find this....

wouldnt it be better if instead of the pipeing on a ef going to the right then going over the right lower control arm then shooting all the way over to the left then out to the back wouldnt it be better if instead of turning right towards the right lower control arm ...it would go LEFT then over the left lower control arm and then just straight back?

i check and it seems like the pipeing would fit if made to go the left!

during my reserched i saw that the less turns a exhaust has the more power it makes well wouldnt this way be better on the ef? cause the exhaust does not have to travel through the whole right side?

yea ur prolly right but the only thing is that the exhaust was not made to go that way so it will sit very low... and im guessing they did it because of the gas tank being there and all the hoses and stuff being on that side of the tank...

You aren't paid enough to think obviously... as stated all the fuel pipes are on that side, please do this to your car and post only when it catches fire. Can't help but laugh at that ridiculous avaatar though..

if your looking for a bit more power, why not just go straight down the middle and heatwrap beneath the gas tank.

Heat wrap doesn't work. One good scrape and it comes off. I've been through this on my Ek. What works the best is to strip the portion of the gas take paint it with spray paint, then get one sideded heat resistant wrap made for batteries and stick it to the gas tank.

This is a great idea if you are seriously ready to unleash the power of your 120hp D series. You might want to get a harness.

On my last crx when I bought it the exhaust was ran like that. I was a little worried at first but the guy said it had been like that for a while and I left it on there for quite a few months before buying a cat back exhaust and it gave me no problems.

If I were to have an exhaust built I might consider doing it that way again but will probably just buy an aftermarket cat back again for my new crx.

I can see where people would think it unsafe and if I hadn't experienced it personally I would probably say the same thing. But like I said, I had it on my last crx for quite some time and it gave me no problems and it was driven daily.

why not run it in the stock position but have a turn down tip right before/after the control arm?

go to a muffler shop and ask the guy to weld you an exhaust that passes right by your fuel lines. he'll laugh and tell you to go find your rice elsewhere.

Are you making any real power to warrant such pipe routing?? If it's some single cam or B16 or whatever, leave it the way it is.
