ive noticed i have whiter smoke coming from my exhaust only when revving really high or when i take off from a stop, i have a code p0401 which is my egr valve but im wondering if that can make it smoke? because even when it isnt smoking my exhaust smells real bad. i dont think its coolant it doesnt smell sweet or anything it smells bad, not like rotten eggs or anything and i have black sut stuff in the end of my exhaust , i dont think its oil either, help would be appreciated

white-ish smoke is coolant. probably a bad head gasket. put a block tester on your radiator and test it. if exhaust gasses are present then the block tester will detect it.

 

YUP YUP YUP any white smoke is always coolant, black is oil, easy tell

 

Pretty sure black smoke means you're running rich. Blue-ish smoke is oil.

OP- Probably head gasket.
