Default jdm itr cat question

Im running jdm itr 96 spec in a 96 gsr obd2, and i'm using the jdm 96 spec itr ecu that came with it which is also obd2.

I just purchased the entire jdm itr exhaust system header, cat, b pipe, exhaust. there's is 1 o2 sensor on the header, but there is no o2 sensor on the cat. will i get cel codes thrown at me since I dont have a second o2 on the cat?

since i'm running the ecu and that cat, which they both mate together in japan, im assuming i wont get any problems, but does anyone know for sure?

The sensor in the cat is a temp sensor and not an O2 sensor. You dont need it and you wont get any CELs without it as it isn't hooked up to the ECU.

You should be fine running a jdm ecu, you will only run into problems if you hook up a usdm ecu

awesome thanks. i have 2 of these cats, it got me thinking for a little bit because one has no o2 and the other one has a really small bung with a sensor that i thought was the o2, but i guess it is the temp sensor that you're talking about.

They done away with the temp sensor in the cat on the 98spec JDM ITR so it was only found in 96specs, so you have a 98spec and 96spec cat. Run the 98spec cat as it'll be newer and wont have the sensor that you dont need anyway.
