sorry dudes, need some ZC wiring help RFN!!!
I am making good progress on swapping a 1991 ZC DOHC engine into my 1991 Civic Si (Canadian built), but have run into a problem.
First off though, my Civic came with a 5spd, no power steering, and no air conditioning. The ZC came with a 5spd, power steering, and
the air conditioning condensor. So, I have pulled the old engine, and I am preparing to swap the engine harness over to the ZC, as I
understand is the thing to do.
I have modified the engine harness for the cam position sensor no problem, but there are two extra wires (& plug) on the original
Si harness that have nowhere to go to on the ZC. These, on my Si D16A6, went to a black gizmo on the BACK of the intake manifold
(on the extreme right hand side, if viewing the engine from the FRONT), which then had a vaccuum-looking line going into the manifold.
The two wires are blk/ylw and blu/ylw. This item does not exist on my ZC engine's intake manifold.
I did extensive research on the ZC swap before I started (and there's a lot of reference out there), but I have never heard of this before.
I am a little paranoid of having my engine throw codes, or run too rich/lean etc.
If I just leave these two wires unattached, what will be the effect? What is the best course of action? HELP!
any info most appreciated
