what is a clutch cable used for?
did some research.couldnt find anything.. and i noticed iam missing mine...what does the cable do exactly? and would it matter if i picked one up at the junk yard or do i gota get a brand new one if i need it?
it's for a cable tranny , it's use to put the car in gear and for the clutch to engaged
it's better to get a new one cause if you get a old one and not gonna work right
and get the oem one than the aftermarket

NEW OR USED AS LONG AS ITS IN GOOD SHAP.
WHAT A CABLE DOSE WHEN APPLY IS PUT PRESSURE TO A FORK IN THE TRANSMISSION
INTURN APPLYS PRESSURE TO THE THROW OUT BEARING, AND THE BEARING APPLYS
PRESSURE TO THE CLUTCH PRESSURE PLATE WITCH ALLOW THE TRANSMISSON TO SHIFT INTO THE DESIRED GEAR THAT YOU CHOSE.

I would get a new one too, I believe they are about $40 new from Honda.
If you get a used one you run the risk of getting one that is no good or has been stretched out, etc.

I beg to differ. It is not easy, but you can drive the car with no clutch at all.
Ive had to do it when my clutch cable snaped.
you start the car in gear, it will lurch you forward. then you just slid threw the gears. then pop it into neutrel, coast to a stop. shut it of, put it into first, and start all over again.
haha
Its not the funnest process in the world, but it is doable.
Ive even got into the habit of not clutching during regular driving, other than starting and stopping. And as long as you dont miss a gear, its not hard on the tranny at all.
I know this isnt what the OP was asking about, but i just wanted to throw it out there thath NOTHING is impossible!! Haha

I know they have dog box trannys for the DSMS but i dont know about for hondas.
I would think that would kill a tranny. Because you cant revmatch an 7-8k. It just doesnt work... i dont think
