Hey all, so for the last few months I have been working on restoring a 00 PY ITR to pristine and original condition, sorry I havent done a build thread for people to follow, but my work schedule just doesnt give me the opportunity to do something of that nature... having said that... the body guy has been nice enough to take pics during the process for me so once I get the car back from the body shop and the files off his camera, I will post a nice long thread of the cars history, when I picked it up, and the changes and repairs done... and of course the final result which I am dying to see and should be seeing shortly. All stages will include lots of pics...

Now on to my issues, I am now to the point where I need to start to focus on the cars interior, the dash and door panels are mint, I picked up a mint MINT set of red cdm seats and a pair of front jdm srd's in red, headliner has a small scuff but I plan to have it done in a similar shade of grey alcantara. Stock steering wheel is mint... but other than that... i still have issues to deal with hahaha.

Carpet was cut for cage, shame cause it was mint otherwise... was kinda hoping to find a minty wrecked teg to pull the interior parts I need.. but its been a few months and nothing but dissapointment so I'm just gonna order what I need from Acura.. but there is a few pieces that seem to be discontinued in Canada... plus it's usually far cheaper to buy dealer parts from the states.

I am loking for the followiing parts....

Interior floor carpet
Interior hatch carpet
Hatch interior side panels
Hatch interior rear panel
1998+ Black Oem floormats (I have a set of mint checkered)
Both steering column covers (upper and lower)
Pass and driver side kickpanel plastic cover pieves (think pass side ecu cover)
Lower console (Think the major piece that the shift surround sits in)
Rear console (Where the armrest mounts)
Armrest pad

I do have some of these pieces in 7/10 condition, but considering the time going into all other aspects of the car, I'm not about to shortchange the interior.

The parts which I cannot seem to locate are the hatch interior pieces, and lower console... Acura shows them as discontinued but I know from prior projects that there is usually parts scattered all over the US and Canada sitting in Dealership stock rooms... ont top fo that, I am just looking to save as much money as possible so if anyone here has a hookup at acura that they can share that would be awesome!

I'm sure there are people here that have stripped out a car for track use or have something totalled that could help you out... I would remain patient finding these items or you run the risk of getting ripped off on some minor pieces.

Thanks a lot for the effort! I actually went on acurapartsonline.com and tried some of the above parts didnt come up (diconstinued) just as my canadian dealer had said, I will probably call an acura dealer in Seattle and see how that goes, if the results arent there I will then call Delray!

I was trying to find used interior for a while, but the parts were never "perfect" and I cant have anything but, so really for the money, I dont mind paying for the parts!

Anyone have acura parts hook up in Washington? lol doesnt hurt to try!

Hondapartsunlimited.com has some of the items you listed. I just recently purchased new armrest for mine. You might want to give them a try.
I think they are located in arizona

Thanks for the help peoples, I will be sending out a parts list to a few US dealers and see what they come back with, Ideally the dealer was in WA but you cant always have your cake and eat it too, I'll just be soo excited to get the stinkin car on the road and in one piece!!!

I just punch in a few part# on my Honda IN, majority of the part# listed above are not discontinued! Some are tho....

Canadian are very different from the US. Downfall, you have to find a dealer willing to ship to Canada.

 

Good luck piecing your caR back to showroom quality! If you can still get the parts new from honda, then that will easily ensure the condition is new. I can't wait to see the pictures.

 

Yay car was sprayed today!!!! Sadly I cant see it until next week... but I'm pretty excited!!

I dont need to find a dealer that is willing to ship, I plan to drive the car to WA with no rear interior, stop at dealer, pick up parts, install the parts in the parking lot hahaha, and then drive back accross like nothing happened so I dont pay any bs tax.

I got some quotes for dealers in WA but they are still charging me like 15% more than some other US dealers are asking for the same parts.. I may hold out for a bit on some of the parts and try to find a honda friend in WA who works at acura and is willing to help a guy out with his employee discount!

you can always make offers to the dealers in WA, tell them what other acura dealers are asking and tell them you'll pay the same. also, i think buying new is the way to go. you almost never find mint used. what's worse buying used means buying local since i wouldn't take chances if you need mint and also have to pay shipping
