Default Where do I start? Few problems...

I've been having a recent problem with my Integra. It's been to shop after shop and still nothing. It's not engaging in VTEC (no CEL, good oil pressure, bypassed the switch you name it) but I think that's come down to me needing a new solenoid... New problem, I was on the highway last night and floored it in 5th to merge off the interstate and I noticed that it hesitates to build speed (bad analogy but kinda like how you feel relieved after you have to push out a fart)... There's a lot of noise that sounds like a lot of metal on metal tapping around when I floor it and I don't know if it's valves hitting pistons or what it is. It's only on the drivers side of the motor. I work late so I don't really have time to tear it down and leave it down for a long period of time. Anything you could suggest I look for towards the weekend? Might be when it gets torn down. At one point I did blow the headgasket but that's been replaced... I have a whole new drivetrain setup that can be put in if this one is junk or what do you think it could be?
