How did u learn to ride?
Started out crashing minibikes/mopeds, and worked my way through a few old dirtbikes. Got a streetbike ('90 Kawi ZR550) in '99, and it just sorta ballooned from there. I'm thoroughly addicted now...can't get enough of trackdays or nice twisty weekend rides
wing it if you don't mind the scratches. Honestly I think you learn faster when you're not afraid of falling and actually do so frequently. Course it may not be healthy but hey...
i learned... through a small 50cc 2-stroke motorcycle, did alot of mistakes with it, and went up to a 80cc, then to a 250cc.
all 2-strokes
i used to drive atleast 30km a day. (now that im in BC, not that much)
racing (track), and twisties also taught me alot.

I got hooked riding my little brothers XR80, then I bought a 1981 Yamaha Exciter (250 cc single cylinder street bike), and rode that around on our ranch for a few months.
when i was 4 my dad bought me a PW50
i rode all the time when i was 5 i started racing dirt bikes and raced that for many many years. Then I won a dirt bike race and won a free scooter. This guy donald upton offered to trade me his YS-R for my scooter so i took him up on the offer.
for those who dont know
YS-R is a 50cc mini street bike

Started off riding on my boy's '97 Gixxer6. I rode it 2 times for 4 hours each time!
I was hooked and knew I needed a Gixxer6 hehehe. Couldnt sleep for weeks and finally I bought a '01 Gixxer6.
Seriously though.... my 6 has nuff power to keep me happy for years to come.
I only tapped maybe 40% of my bike's potential...probably less than that...

Until you start scraping your foot pegs, you don't know diddly squat about your bike's potential...

Self taught. Street bike +
= One bad azz rider. If ur SkeeRd stay on four wheels. If you'r not a little off in your head you'll never run with the big dogs. You guys must agree to throw a part of you'r body on the road in a curve at over 100 + mph ya gotta be a little crazy.

First time on a bike was going around a parking lot getting taught by my friends. Second time on a bike was the MSF course the following week!
Plus they're so expensive if you're over 21. I just learned on a ninja250. I knew how to drive a manual car and ride a bicycle. Just put the two together and then I was flying. Couple months later I took the msf course to make sure I wasnt missing anything.
MSF is the Motorcycle Safety Foundation.
They teach you to ride, a bunch of motorcycle laws, and the certificate waives the road course of your motorcycle liscence test, and gets you a discount on motorcycle insurance.
I am going to take it soon. Its only $155 bucks, for 3 days of fun fun fun!

I learned because I was going on a 30-mile trip in a foreign country, and the roads could only be accessed by bike. We all rented 125s and learned that way. There was mud, we were crashing, stalling, etc. But by the end of the first day I was leaning into turns, it was the most fun I have ever had.
