Default My 99 Hatch build thread.

Back on March 6th, I bought a completely stock 99 Dx Hatch. I decided it was the perfect candidate for my build. Here's the list of what I've bought so far.... B16a SIR II swap. Exedy Stage 2 clutch, ITR Shifter and Shift linkage, Hasport Motor mounts, Gator Axles, Si Gauge Cluster and Climate Control Bezel, Si Arm rest, new charcoal gray carpet, GSR Seats, Mishimoto Radiator and hoses, OEM Style Fogs, Front lip, Stock Si wheels with Yokohama S Drive tires, Apexi World Sport 2 Exhaust, RMF Replica Big Bore 2 piece header, Yowaii-SS Intake, AP1 S2k Steering Wheel, Si front grill, Spoon "Duck Bill" Spoiler, ASR Rear Lower Strut Brace, PIC Lower control arms, TEIN S Tech Springs, Eibach Pro Damper Shocks, Air Raid T.B.S. I bought a 99 Si parts car and have been getting parts off of it as I go. I will be swapping the f&r brakes & doors (so I have power windows, locks, and mirrors). Here's pics of the build...

When I bought the car

With the Si Wheels on and cleared the headlights

Pulling the motor

B16 going in

Motor In

Si Parts car

AP1 Wheel

That's the update for now. I'll take more pics tonight and keep posting my updates. Thanks for looking

Nice!

How much did you pay for that S2K Steering wheel? AP1?

Yes its a AP1 Steering wheel and I got one heck of a deal on it. A buddy was cleaning out his garage and I got the Steering wheel off him for $100!! I also got a Neuspeed strut bar and Carbon Fiber Cooling Plate for my S2k from him for $180!

Ok so I've been out in the garage for the last few days finishing up on the car. I still have quite a bit to do to the car but the swap is done, and the interior is done. I still have to finish the suspension and swap doors off the Si and do the rear disc conversion. Then time for body and paint and finally be completely done. Here's some pics I just took.

nice.. but in my opinion I would have tried to save that civic si instead of using it for parts.. unless that si was completely trashed

Yeah I wish I could've saved it but it was beyond repair. It had structural damage in the rear. Unfortunate, I know.

Looks great!
Did you somehow hook the airbag up in the steering wheel?
If not will it still pass inspection without it?

Keep it stock ride height or moderately lower it so it'll be a sleeper!

The S2k is mine but the STI is my Brothers. STI is a 05 which he bought new (18 miles on it) and it only has 17k on it now! He barely drives it.

Ap1 wheels are a direct bolt on. Airbag plugs right in. We don't have vehicle inspections here in So. Illinois so I don't know if it would pass or not if it wasn't hooked up.

I agree it looks really cluttered in the bay but it's going to be my DD and the summers here are hot and very humid so I wasn't going to sacrifice the comfort features for looks.

I actually got lucky with that find. A buddy was selling his s2k and had a Personal wheel in it when he sold it and had the oem laying around in his closet so I picked it up off him for $100!!
