Is this true about JDM B16A alternators? (RESOLVED)
Long story short, I need a new alternator for my OBD1 B16A. I was literally just about to buy one for a B16A3 (Del Sol VTEC) when I decided to run a search and I came accross this thread:

Is it really true that I need one for a 90-93 Integra because of the "weird brackets"?

UPDATE
Got an alternator for a '93 Integra, fit and works perfect. Unsure if a '94-'95 Integra alternator will work though.
Pulley and mounting points are the same.

Plug is the same.

One for the archieve.

i know that they are different from JDM to USDM as in you must have a USDM bracket to run a USDM alternator, and vice versa. I would just get the del sol alternator and source a bracket just to eliminate a headache.
I guess I just need someone to confirm that, but I will say philosofy1 (he posted in that thread) knows his stuff.

oh BTW, from what I heard you can use a 94-95 teg alternator also. they're 90 amp instead of 65

"DA" is a common reference for a '90-93 Integra chassis. What does the plug look like on the back of your alternator ? It could be the early large round dark green plug on your engine harness or the newer/later square light green plug on your engine harness. The former plug style application would use the '90-95 Acura Integra alternator, and the latter plug style would use a '96-01 Acura Integra (non Type R) alternator. If you want the highest AMP output, choose the Acura Integra GS-R fitment.

ok thanks, they always ask 7 or 8 L which do I tell them or does it matter. Didn't have a chance to do it today hopefully we can get it done tomorrow
Do you mean 1.7L or 1.8L ??? This would be the difference between the '92-93 1.7L VTEC engine and the '90-95 GS/LS/RS 1.8L non-VTEC and '94-95 GSR 1.8L VTEC engines.
yeah thats what i ment my bad. So when I go in I just ask for a 92 Integra 1.7 L alternator? And if I want higher amp I asked for the 92 gs-r integra?
