Timing Belt/Water Pump OEM vs Aftermarket
I am replacing a timing belt (and autotensioner, etc) and waterpump in my Honda pilot. I am looking for advice on parts OEM vs aftermarket. Generally I lean towards OEM but Advance Auto has a great special (spend $100 get $50 off your next order) and I was looking at a ASC water pump and Beck/Arnley belt. Any comments on quality of these parts would be great.
When I work on customer's cars, I give them a choice of either aftermarket and/or OEM. I have rebuild numerous engines with advance auto/ or aftermarket parts with great success. But if you can afford it go with OEM. Especially important parts that rotates. For the most part quality and reliability is better.

I am going to be changing a timing belt on an 07 Odyssey soon and I wondered if either of you know of a place to download manuals and such. I have worked on a ton of older Hondas and have always been able to find factory manuals online. Not sure about the newer ones. Haven't seen any threads on timing belt replacement on these either.
Is it pretty straight forward or am I in for a headache?
I don't know of any site at this time. If you have done timing on any of the older honda V6 example, C32, J30, C35 or the J35 then it won't be a problem.
Haven't worked on any V6's. Only D, B, and K series. I wouldn't think it would be much more complicated. Do you know if you can do it without removing mounts just like the 4 cyl's?

With your experiences, you'll be fine. You do have to remove side engine mount/bracket. If you decide to start, PM me I think I have a diagram of your engine.
