Oil Light with new used motor!
I put another motor in after i found out that the other one had bad rings.
This motor don't smoke or anything but the oil light comes on only at idle but turns off when I take off. When driving it stays off. So I put a new pressure switch on it and it does the same. I have not done a pressure check on it because i have a feeling the pump is good. I got 5w30 in it but I know it calls for 10w30. Does any body know what it could be?
Another thing is when I pump the brake the rpms go up at idle and the oil light goes off, you think I got a vaccum leak or something?

i have the same problem, mine blinks when i come to a stop.or when in one place and i rev it up past 2 and it comes back to idle .it just blinks..i also have 10-30w in for the answer as well...
i drive mine daily because i personally fully rebuilt my engine a month ago,I changed EVERYTHING. so its either the sensor or wiring problem, leaning more towards the wiring since my fuse keeps popping and radio or turn signals don't work. your best bet would be to install a oil pressure gauge and see if your loosing oil pressure. a oil pressure gauge is always a good thing to have.
