Possibly adding 11.50 & 10.50 index classes to WCF on Nov 6-7?
What are everyone thoughts on adding 2 new classes to the World Cup Finals (Import vs Domestic) this year, 10.50 index and 11.50 index? Going to start working on the event and setting up classes and finalizing rules here very soon.
We would still be keeping all of the other classes including Street Stock that we have run in the past at the World Cup Finals. If we do this, we would be adding 2 more classes to the event. The class line up for 2010 could look like this.
Outlaw 10.5 vs Extreme Compact
Outlaw Radial vs Modified Compact
X275 vs Hot Rod (formerly called Street Fighter)
Outlaw Street (formerly called Wild Street)
True Street
Motor Street
Street Stock
10.50 Index
11.50 Index
Automatic E.T.
Stick E.T.

i think you need to consolidate the classes that fans don't care for as much as possible for the sake of time. the race already ends at midnight, so adding these 2 classes will make it 3 am.
Here we go again.
Guys,
lets look at this from a marketing perspective. they tried the index classes and they seem to be popular.
Why would'nt you have them at the year's biggest event?
If you have it, I'm racin!!

In some of the classes at the WCF we had over 50 cars trying to qualify. This would give some of those cars a place to race besides bracket.
11.50 cars wont make the cut in any of the heads up classes including Motor Street. Besides this year we are going to allow some of the GM cars in Motor Street with very limited mods to keep everything competitive with the Fords and Hondas.
10.50 cars wont quite make it in Real Street, and most of them will have turbos anyways so they wont fit in Motor Street. So the 10.50 class will fit them if they are running in that range.
We have over 700+ cars every year at the WCF so it wont hurt the car counts in the other classes.
Now that the event is 2 days, we got the event over much earlier than in the past. We have the event over by 8pm on Saturday and by 9pm on Sunday with 700+ cars in competition. We have alot of staff work the event and we get them down the track.

^ Agree 100% Jason the 40 cars that dont qualify in TS will have somewhere to race and since its a 2 day event scheduling shouldnt be an issue.
Why 10.50 and not 10.0?
I think a lot of the reason 11.50 is becoming popular is because you dont need all of the safety components to compete. I would imagine those people who dont have 10 point cages or 9 Second certifications would be happier with a slightly faster index.

Jason are you planning on making it a 3 day event now ? haha

^^Agreed!
It sucks leaving that late as it is for us that travel 5+ hours. I am all for seeing more racing action but I think the schedule would have to be re-vamped to accomodate the added two classes. I would assume they would be pretty full.

well as they were saying, if it takes cars out of other classes, in reality its the same # of cars racing, they would just be in these classes as opposed to others
