D15 DPFI getting 12mpg
The car has a multitude of problems but my current predicment is it supttering extremely bad, idiling so low it stalls out if i take my foot off the gas, and it is running EXTREMELY rich. I pulled & changed the plugs and they were completely black. I couldn't find any obvious vacuum leaks using the smokers test and the timing hasn't been touched. No CEL's. The car is an 88 5spd civic. Thanks for the help.
First thing I would do is take the IACV off and thoroughly clean it out with brake cleaner.

After that I would follow the shop manual guide instructions for properly setting your idle through adjustment of the idle screw.
What oil and filter are you using at the moment?

Cleaned out IACV and it didnt help. Still cant find idle air control screw. and i'm still getting like 10-12mpg. I checked the ecu codes and i think i'm getting a code 1 but i'm not really sure. it just blinks over and over with maybe a 1 sec pause between blinks. Never gives me the long pause like it should for another code. Anyone have a guess as to why my A/F went to **** randomly?

i looked again and i'm pretty sure i'm just getting code 1 cuz the interval between blinks never changed for a solid like 2 minutes...I just wasnt sure what the time intervals were supposed to look like due to this being my first honda.
